WHAT’S MUSIC PRODUCTION?

There can be a lot of confusion as to what a music producer does. A music producer does the following:

• Budgets and follows the budget for a production

• Crafts the overall sound of a recording, EP or Album

• Coaches or mentors musicians and/or bands to get the necessary performance to match the music

• Coordinates studio time, session musicians, equipment, and other necessary things for a project

• Plans the overall project/production and creates the schedule

Music production is the whole process of creating, recording, mixing and mastering a finished piece of music, EP or album.
